The Changan Hunter REEV is a world-first: a bakkie whose 2.0-litre turbopetrol engine functions exclusively as an on-board generator, never directly powering the wheels. The vehicle is driven entirely by its two electric motors (AWD) while the petrol engine charges the 31.18 kWh LFP battery when needed.
Combined system outputs are 200 kW / 470 Nm. Claimed total range of 1,000 km, electric-only range of up to 145 km, 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. V2L outlets are standard. Ground clearance is 220 mm. Priced at R799,900.
