The Jaecoo J5 is the brand’s compact entry-level SUV, launched in South Africa in September 2025. It carries the same Jaecoo design DNA as its larger sibling — squared-off proportions, prominent vertical grille slats, and chunky detailing — in a more accessible 4,380 mm package.

All three variants (Vortex R379,900, Glacier R439,900, Inferno R479,900) are powered by a 1.5-litre turbopetrol (115 kW / 230 Nm) with a CVT. Even the entry Vortex includes LED headlights, 18-inch alloys, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and faux leather. All include a 5-year/150,000 km warranty and 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty for the first owner.
